Mock Grant Proposal

Enoch’s Promotion

The Great Climax

The Violet Shellshock

This is a project I completed for my grant writing class.

During this project, I learned how to organize a grant proposal from the ground up.

The first skill I learned was research, and how to find organizations that give out grants, as well as thoroughly researching the project that needs to be funded, the community it effects, and why it’s important.

The next skill is rhetoric, learning how to show the grant provider that the project is worth funding.

With rhetoric, I learned how to use ethos, logos, pathos, and kairos to explain to the funder that the organization is reputable, that their work is needed, that their work will help improve the lives of real people, and that this need is relevant to the world we’re living in today.

The finale skill I learned is logistics. This proposal was to ask for money to build solar farms in low-income communities. For this, I had to research how much it would likely cost and think of every detail, from materials to labor, land cost, installment, buffer money, as well as measuring the positive impact of the operation, which included money saved by low-income households and decreased CO2 emissions. The purpose is to show funders that their money is being well spent.
